South District
Future

The vision for Greater Sydney as a metropolis of three cities – the Western Parkland City, the Central River City and the Eastern Harbour City and a 30 minute city – means residents in the South District will have quicker and easier access to a wider range of jobs, housing types and activities. The vision will improve the District’s lifestyle and environmental assets.

Metropolitan context of the South District

The South District forms part of the Eastern Harbour City. The District connects to the Central River City through Bankstown and to the Western Parkland city through Liverpool.

About the
Plan

The South District Plan informs local strategic planning statements and local environmental plans, the assessment of planning proposals as well as community strategic plans and policies.
