Our true centre: the connected, unifying heart.

We believe GPOP – our name for Greater Parramatta to the Olympic Peninsula – can become a successful inner-urban hub.

A growing city needs a vision to set a dynamic agenda for an exciting future for everyone. Our vision for the area’s evolution over the next 20 years is laid out here.

We’re inviting all of Greater Sydney to get involved with the GPOP conversation, so we can plan the future of our central city together. We see GPOP as Greater Sydney’s true centre, the connected and unifying heart.

The Vision

The key components of the vision are four major opportunities:

  • Parramatta CBD and Westmead Health and Education Super Precinct
  • Next Generation Living from Camellia to Carlingford
  • Essential Urban Services, Advanced Technology and Knowledge Sectors in Camellia, Rydalmere, Silverwater and Auburn
  • Olympic Park Lifestyle Super Precinct

Growth Infrastructure Compacts

Greater Sydney is a successful and growing city, but to become more liveable, sustainable and productive, it will need additional infrastructure and services in the right places and at the right time.

To achieve this, a better, more collaborative way of doing things is required, so the Greater Sydney Commission has designed Growth Infrastructure Compacts which will bring government, business and the community together to match housing and jobs growth with timely and cost- effective delivery of infrastructure. The Commission is applying the first Growth Infrastructure Compact in GPOP.
