The Parramatta Road corridor is to be transformed to include an additional 27,000 homes and 50,000 extra jobs, with complementary community facilities and green spaces. UrbanGrowth NSW (now Landcom) devised the Parramatta Road Corridor Urban Transformation Strategy in collaboration with state agencies and councils.
The Greater Sydney Commission is tasked with delivering the $198 million Urban Amenity Improvement Program (UAIP), a major public spend to kick start the much needed renewal of the Parramatta Road corridor. It will deliver new open space and plazas, new cycle paths, new playing fields and streetscape improvements along the Parramatta Road corridor.
The Commission is working with councils to implement the UAIP.
