The Greater Sydney Commission’s Chief Commissioner Lucy Turnbull AO, has been awarded an honorary Doctorate of Letters from Western Sydney University.
The WSU Board of Trustees conferred the award to Lucy for her 'substantial and sustained service and contribution to the University and the Greater Western Sydney region', citing her considerable community and philanthropic endeavours.
Addressing fellow graduands, Lucy said she was honoured to receive the doctorate from Western Sydney University – a key strategic partner for the Greater Sydney Commission in the Central River City and an important element of the Parramatta Westmead Health and Education super precinct.
"The Central City is an area where there is so much momentum for smart growth, smart infrastructure investment and positive change. We can only be a smart, growing city if we have educated people like yourselves," she said.
