The engagement program has been designed so that people can get involved in different ways.
As not everyone has the time to come along and meet face-to-face the Commission is holding weekly interactive Live Online sessions on Facebook. This is a great opportunity for people to ask Commissioners and senior planners questions about the draft Plans, and to discuss issues of liveability, productivity and sustainability.
The Commission is hosting a series of three-hour Community Feedback Workshops, for those wanting to meet face-to-face. At the workshops people will have an opportunity to hear about the new plans, how they have been changed in response to previous feedback and provide their feedback. Dates for these sessions can be found on our website.
As we are planning a city for future generations the Commission has worked with the Advocate for Children and Young People to design a city-planning app called My Metropolis. The app allows young people to build the type of city they’d like to see in their future with housing, jobs, services and green space. It can be downloaded for free from the iTunes and the Google App store. Information about the choices young people make when using the app to design their city will help to shape the Plans.
And of course people can visit the Greater Sydney Commission website to make a submission.
During the last exhibition period, the Commission engaged with more than 7,750 people and received around 2,341 submissions. This resulted in the draft District Plans being revised to align with the new draft Region Plan and to reflect previous feedback.
The Commission would like to thank everyone who made a submission on the previous plans and encourage people to visit our website, read the plans and make a submission.
The draft Plans are on exhibition until 15 December 2017. Visit www.greater.sydney to read the draft Plans, make a submission or for more information on how you can have your say. You can also follow the Commission on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter and Instagram for regular updates.
